📖 "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."

Born a loser or born great — how you end is the choice you make before God.

Life is a kingdom choice. Whatever you🫵 see or collect in life may be of your own making. If you🫵 fail or succeed in life, you🫵 are responsible. A born winner can end up a loser, and a loser can also end up a winner. The choice is yours.

In 1 Samuel 4:19-22 is the story of a boy on whose birthday everything that could be associated with evil happened. On that day the Ark of God was captured — in other words, the presence of God, the Glory of God, was taken away. His father died, his grandfather the priest died, and his mother died on the day he was born. Before her death, his mother looked at him and called him Ichabod — "the glory is departed from Israel." The glory of God will not depart from our lives in Jesus Name 🙏.

Ichabod was born a loser, and, as I have said, there is nothing wrong with being born a loser. The unfortunate thing is that it is not recorded anywhere in the Bible that Ichabod made amends in his life. It is not recorded that Ichabod at any point called upon God to have mercy upon him. He was born a loser and died a loser; he died uncelebrated and unsung. This will not be your portion in Jesus Name 🙏.

Let us compare this with the story in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10: "There was a man named Jabez who was more distinguished than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and extend my lands! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!' And God granted him his request."

The meaning of Jabez is "he makes sorrow." He was given that name because his mother bore him in sorrow. He was also born a loser like Ichabod — a man without any family connection, perhaps a child born out of wedlock — but he became outstanding. He became a champion, a great person. Why? Because he called upon God and he was heard. He made the following five requests:

➡️ Bless me indeed. ➡️ Enlarge my coast. ➡️ Let Your hand be with me. ➡️ Keep me from evil. ➡️ Keep me from grief.

These requests are among the most common that God hears from the average person. God heard Jabez, and we have every right in the world 🌎 to believe that He will also hear all others who pray likewise from their heart ❤️, for God is no respecter of persons.

Beloved, some people who were born great ended up as losers, like Reuben. Others who were born great ended up great or even greater, like Joseph. Some who were born losers died losers, like Ichabod. And some born losers ended up great, like Jabez. In the end Jabez became so great that a city in Judah was named after him — the city of Jabez (1 Chronicles 2:55).

Yes! You🫵 can make it in Jesus Mighty Name 🙏. Make your choice wisely today.

(God bless you 🫵)
