God's work must be done in God's way — when all else fails, read the instructions.

Has God given you a destination, and are you heading there? Are you wondering why your efforts aren't producing any fruit? Sometimes we are doing the right things the wrong way. In other words, we are doing God's things OUR way. So, let's get back on track. Doing the right thing in the wrong way can bring the tragedy of God's wrath and bad consequences. 2 Samuel 6:6-9 says: "And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God... And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?" I pray for you🫵 today that God will give you🫵 the understanding to do the right things in God's right way in Jesus Name 🙏.

DAVID INITIATED A GRIEVOUS WRONG: The Bible says in 2 Samuel 6:7 that God smote Uzzah there for his error. That word "error" means "for his hastiness." In his hastiness, Uzzah forgot to reverence God. He had no regard for the sanctity of the Ark. Uzzah was the son of Abinadab, and the Ark had been in his father's house for 20 years (1 Samuel 7:1-2). It was a familiar piece of furniture, and it had become to Uzzah just a box... Is it not so easy to become familiar with holy things? "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him" (Psalms 89:7). It is so easy to do the right thing the wrong way, especially for church-going people and Christians. We want to do the right thing, but we don't always do it the right way. When we see someone doing something wrong, it may be right to say that it is wrong, but how we go about it makes all the difference. I think people who have gone about doing the right thing the wrong way have done a lot of harm to the name of Jesus Christ.

When we do the right thing the wrong way, it often comes across to other people as mean-spirited or self-righteous, and I know that is how it comes across to God. May God give you🫵 the grace to consult His instructions in the Bible before taking any life decisions in Jesus Name 🙏.

Before the first attempt to bring back the Ark, David consulted the people, and all the congregation said that they would do so, for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people. So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim (1 Chronicles 13:4-5). DAVID'S MISTAKE WAS COSTLY in setting the Ark on a new cart 🛒. DAVID IMITATED A RELIGIOUS WORLD 🌎: Where did they get this "new cart" idea from? The Philistines! (1 Samuel 6:7).

Beloved, just because the past was wrong doesn't mean the future can't be better. In 2 Samuel 6:12-15, DAVID'S MISSION WAS COMPLETED. You see, when all else fails, read the instructions. During the three months that God blessed Obed-edom, David read his Bible before he came to this conclusion: "None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God" (1 Chronicles 15:2). He discovered that God is:

CONCERNED ABOUT PROPER METHODS: He began by recognizing that the Ark should be carried only by Levites; he discovered that God's work must be done in God's way (1 Chronicles 15:13). God is concerned about our methods as well as our motives!

CONCERNED ABOUT PURE LIVES: He told the priests, "Sanctify yourselves... that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel" (1 Chronicles 15:12). Not only are the right men to do the work, but they are equally to be righteous men. When God's work is done by God's people in God's way, it brings blessings and miracles. You🫵 are next in line for abundant blessings today in Jesus Name 🙏.
